BVES Awarded Educate Fairfax Grant- Let's Get Cookin'!

Our special education program has been awarded a grant from Educate Fairfax for their project, Let’s Get Cookin’! Each week they use a visual recipe and work together to create a different dish. Students learn and practice so many skills in the areas of reading, math, fine motor, communication, and teamwork. They’ve made foods from applesauce to grilled cheese to homemade butter. The students are always engaged and excited to try new experiences!

What do the queen and Belle View have in common? Both of us had our platinum jubilee in 2022. Principal Kuntz, Ms. Lehner, and Ms. Trimer attended the school board meeting on May 26th where this special anniversary was recognized.

FCPS Receives $13 Million Grant from U.S. Department of Education to Support Student Mental Health
The U.S. Department of Education has awarded the first year of a five-year grant to Fairfax County Public Schools for $13.5 million to support a School-Based Mental Health Services Grant project.
FCPS Students Recognized with 2023 Regional Scholastic Art Awards
The Fairfax County Art Region of the Scholastic Art Awards recognized FCPS students with 174 Gold Key awards, 171 Silver Key awards, and 188 Honorable Mention awards. Four works by FCPS students were nominated for the best-in-show American Visions Award.
